Mason Animal Hospital in Mason, Ohio is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you'll support veterinarians with exams, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, imaging, and patient nursing care. You'll provide compassionate handling, client education, and detailed medical documentation while helping maintain a clean, safe, and efficient clinic. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for canine and feline patients, including monitoring hospitalized and post-surgical patients and documenting patient status accurately.
  • Assist veterinarians during wellness exams, medical workups, diagnostics, and surgical procedures, ensuring safe and efficient patient handling and restraint.
  • Perform technical procedures such as blood draws, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, injections, wound management, and sample collection according to hospital protocols.
  • Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment including digital radiography, in-house laboratory analyzers, and other diagnostic tools; prepare and submit reference lab samples.
  • Provide high-quality anesthesia monitoring and pain management support, including pre-operative preparation, induction support, intraoperative monitoring, and post-operative recovery care.
  • Perform veterinary dental procedures within RVT scope, including dental charting, dental radiographs, prophylaxis, scaling and polishing under the direction of the veterinarian.
  • Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and preventive care, and ensure accurate dosing, labeling, and record-keeping in the medical record system.
  • Educate and communicate with clients about treatment plans, home care instructions, preventive care, nutrition, and general pet wellness in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner.
  • Support a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment by following infection control, sanitation, and equipment maintenance protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with veterinarians, assistants, and client service staff to support efficient workflow, excellent medical standards, and a positive, team-centered workplace.
  • Participate in ongoing training, continuing education, and skills development to stay current with best practices in veterinary nursing and patient care.
