Job Description
Angel Medical Center seeks a Respiratory Therapist RRT to provide safe, evidence-based respiratory care to acute and chronic patients. In this role, you will assess respiratory status, perform treatments, manage ventilators, perform ABGs, and assist with emergency responses in ED, ICU, and inpatient units. You will collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff, educate patients and families, and document care in the EMR. Responsibilities
- Assess patients' respiratory status and develop care plans in collaboration with physicians
- Administer respiratory treatments, medications, and therapies per protocol and orders
- Initiate, manage, and wean patients from mechanical ventilation and noninvasive support
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and basic respiratory diagnostics
- Respond to respiratory emergencies, codes, and rapid response calls
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, therapies, and equipment use
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMRMaintain and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring safety and compliance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe discharges and care transitions
- Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards in all respiratory care activities
