Job Description

Waukee-Clive Veterinary Clinic seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician to support small-animal preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry in a close-knit, client-focused practice. In this role, you'll assist veterinarians with exams, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory testing, radiology, and dental procedures while providing compassionate, low-stress handling for pets. You'll educate clients on treatment plans and long-term wellness, maintain accurate medical records, and help ensure a clean, efficient clinic environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with small-animal exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Monitor anesthesia and provide surgical support including patient prep and recovery
  • Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, and administer medications and vaccines
  • Conduct in-house lab tests and assist with imaging such as digital radiography
  • Provide dental support including cleanings and assisting with oral procedures
  • Ensure safe, low-stress handling and restraint of patients
  • Educate clients on treatment plans, preventive care, and long-term pet wellness
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic medical records
  • Uphold clinic cleanliness, infection control, and equipment care standards
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to deliver high-quality, compassionate care
