RN-Cardiac Surgery Stepdown

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a dedicated RN for our Cardiac Surgery Stepdown unit, Nights. In this role, you will provide specialized post-operative care to cardiac surgery patients, closely monitoring telemetry, managing complex medications, and supporting safe recovery. You'll collaborate with physicians and an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and ensure accurate documentation. Responsibilities

• Provide night-shift nursing care to cardiac surgery stepdown patients, ensuring safe post-operative recovery.
• Continuously monitor patient status, including telemetry, vital signs, and response to treatment, and escalate concerns promptly.
• Administer medications, infusions, and treatments accurately and safely, following evidence-based protocols.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, and document care in the EHR.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and support staff to coordinate holistic care.
• Manage post-surgical wounds, drains, and lines, monitoring for complications and intervening as needed.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment aligned with Piedmont's patient-centered culture.
• Participate in unit-based quality initiatives, safety checks, and performance improvement activities.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training offered by Piedmont Healthcare.
