Doctors Hospital of Augusta seeks a Burn Med Surg Float RN to provide high-quality, compassionate care to adult and burn patients across medical-surgical and step-down units. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, administer medications, manage wound and burn treatments, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in condition. This role collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, educates patients and families, and upholds safety, infection control, and documentation standards while adapting to varying unit needs and supporting a culture of respect, teamwork, and clinical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to burn and medical-surgical patients across multiple units
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and accurately
- Perform burn and wound care, dressing changes, and pain management
- Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and respond to changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge, and self-care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies at all times
- Float between units as needed, adapting to varying patient populations and acuity
