OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will evaluate patients, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based interventions to help individuals regain independence in daily activities. Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for patients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments impacting daily function
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and functional goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the care team
• Provide therapeutic interventions including ADL/IADL training, therapeutic exercise, cognitive and perceptual retraining, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility training
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety strategies, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices
• Recommend and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment, splints, durable medical equipment, and home or workplace modifications
• Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences, contributing to discharge planning and continuity of care
• Adhere to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards while following Piedmont Healthcare policies and clinical protocols
• Collaborate with other rehabilitation professionals, nursing, and medical staff to coordinate and optimize patient care
• Engage in ongoing professional development, quality improvement activities, and in-service education; mentor students or new staff as appropriate
