Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to support patient-centered rehabilitation services within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will implement treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, assist patients in improving functional abilities, and document progress accurately. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and help ensure safe discharges. Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients' performance in activities of daily living, functional mobility, and fine motor skills
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices
• Observe, measure, and document patient responses and progress in the electronic medical record according to regulatory and facility standards
• Communicate patient status, observations, and recommendations to the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team
• Assist with discharge planning by providing input on functional status, equipment needs, and caregiver training
• Ensure a safe and supportive treatment environment, including proper set-up, cleaning, and maintenance of therapy equipment
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives within the department
• Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards for occupational therapy practice and patient confidentiality
