Registered Respiratory Therapist

Memorial Health in Savannah, GA is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders across acute and critical care settings. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests, administering treatments, managing ventilators, documenting care, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to develop care plans. Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans for assigned patients.
• Administer respiratory therapies including aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, bronchial hygiene, and lung expansion techniques.
• Initiate, manage, and monitor invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, including ventilator setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting.
• Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, pulse oximetry, and bedside pulmonary function screening as needed.
• Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies, rapid responses, and code situations, providing airway management and resuscitative support within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate and optimize patient care.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, medications, and proper use of respiratory equipment.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.
• Ensure proper cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment in accordance with infection control and safety standards.
• Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory guidelines, and professional standards while supporting Memorial Health's culture of compassion, innovation, and continuous improvement.
