StoneSprings Hospital Center, part of HCA Virginia Health System, is seeking a Nurse Clinical Coordinator to support our Emergency Room team. In this role, you will coordinate patient care activities, support clinical staff, and ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and hospital policies. Responsibilities include overseeing patient flow, mentoring RNs, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and promoting quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. Requires an active RN license, 2+ years of acute care experience (ER strongly preferred), strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment aligned with our compassionate, ethical culture.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee day to day clinical operations within the Emergency Room during assigned shifts
- Provide direct bedside nursing care, including triage, assessment, medication administration, and ongoing monitoring of ER patients
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for ER nursing staff, supporting decision making and prioritization of care
- Facilitate effective communication among physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary departments to support timely and coordinated care
- Assist with patient flow management, including bed placement, admissions, transfers, and discharges to optimize throughput and reduce wait times
- Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing coaching of new and existing ER nurses and support staff
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including documentation accuracy and adherence to safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, tracking key metrics and helping implement best practices in emergency care
- Respond to emergencies and rapid changes in patient condition, escalating concerns to appropriate clinical leaders as needed
- Promote a compassionate, respectful, and patient centered environment for patients, families, and staff
