Cone Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Urology team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide comprehensive urologic care, including patient assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for acute and chronic genitourinary conditions. Responsibilities include performing procedures within scope, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and assisting with pre- and post-operative care. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive urologic assessments, including history, physical exams, and review of diagnostic data
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for acute and chronic urologic conditions
- Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests and imaging studies relevant to urology
- Perform in-clinic procedures within NP/PA scope and assist urologists with minor procedures as needed
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including patient education, medication management, and follow-up visits
- Prescribe medications and adjust therapies based on patient response and clinical guidelines
- Collaborate closely with urologists, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
- Document all encounters, plans, and procedures accurately in the electronic health record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and evidence-based practice efforts
- Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusivity, and compassionate care
