Interventional Technician

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking an Interventional Rad Tech to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you'll perform interventional radiology procedures, operate imaging equipment, and support physicians in delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include preparing patients, maintaining sterile technique, monitoring patient status, and ensuring accurate documentation. Responsibilities

• Assist interventional radiologists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as angiography, vascular interventions, embolizations, and biopsies
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies, ensuring sterile instruments and devices are available and ready for use
• Verify patient identity, review orders, and confirm procedural details, obtaining necessary documentation and consents per policy
• Position patients accurately and safely for interventional procedures, maintaining patient comfort and dignity
• Operate fluoroscopy and interventional imaging systems, acquiring and documenting images according to protocol
• Apply radiation safety and ALARA principles to protect patients, staff, and self during all procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and infection prevention practices during case setup, procedures, and room turnover
• Anticipate physician and team needs during procedures, assisting with contrast administration and device handling within scope of practice
• Monitor patient status during procedures in collaboration with nurses and physicians, promptly reporting any changes or concerns
• Document procedures, images, supplies, and technical details accurately in the electronic health record and PACSPerform room turnover, equipment cleaning, and basic troubleshooting to ensure a safe and efficient interventional suite
• Participate in on-call, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed to support emergent and add-on cases
• Engage in ongoing education, training, and competency assessments in interventional radiology techniques, equipment, and safety standards
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and support staff, promoting a culture of respect, teamwork, and patient-centered care
