As a Surgical Stepdown RN at HCA Healthcare, you'll provide critical care to postoperative patients transitioning out of surgery, focusing on high-quality, patient-centered care. In our fast-paced stepdown units, you will monitor patients recovering from general and specialized surgeries, adapting to the dynamic needs while supporting patients and their families in their recovery processes.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess the health status of postoperative patients, providing timely updates to the medical team.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for any adverse reactions.
- Operate and monitor medical equipment used in patient care.
- Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and ancillary staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about postoperative care and recovery expectations.
