Job Description
TriCities Hospital in Hopewell, VA seeks a Clinical Coordinator Outpatient Surgery RN to lead and coordinate care for patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures. In this role, you will oversee day-of-surgery patient flow, conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, and ensure evidence-based, safe, and timely care. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and ancillary teams, support and mentor staff, assist with scheduling and resource allocation, and promote a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement aligned with HCA standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations and patient flow for outpatient surgical procedures.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop perioperative care plans.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Support, mentor, and serve as a resource for outpatient surgery nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee accurate and timely clinical documentation and use of EMR systems.
- Assist with staff scheduling, room assignments, and efficient use of resources.
- Educate patients and families on pre- and post-operative expectations and care.
- Monitor quality metrics and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety, respect, and patient-centered care within the unit.
