Mission Health is seeking an Oncology Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in Asheville, NC. This RN role coordinates comprehensive oncology care, including patient assessment, treatment planning, and navigation across the cancer care continuum. The coordinator ensures safe chemotherapy administration, timely follow-up, and clear communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities
- Coordinate oncology patient care across the continuum, from diagnosis through survivorship or palliative care
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Support safe chemotherapy and treatment workflows in collaboration with oncology providers
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, side-effect management, and resources
- Serve as primary point of contact to facilitate communication among patients, physicians, and the care team
- Monitor patient progress, respond to clinical concerns, and manage symptom triage
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation in the EHR and maintain regulatory compliance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize care pathways and outcomes
- Precept and mentor newer staff to support professional development
