Job Description

Mission Health in Asheville, NC seeks a Registered Nurse Rapid Response to provide expert, timely interventions for deteriorating patients across hospital units. In this critical role, you'll assess acute changes, initiate evidence-based treatments, collaborate with physicians and bedside teams, and support safe transfers to higher levels of care. You'll educate staff on early warning signs, participate in code and rapid response events, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Respond rapidly to clinical deterioration and urgent calls across hospital units
  • Perform comprehensive, advanced assessments of acutely ill patients
  • Initiate and titrate evidence-based interventions per protocol and provider orders
  • Lead and participate in code and rapid response events to stabilize patients
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, bedside nurses, and ancillary staff
  • Support safe transfer of patients to higher levels of care when indicated
  • Educate bedside staff on early warning signs and escalation pathways
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHRParticipate in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
  • Precept and mentor nurses in managing high-acuity situations
