Job Description
Mission Health seeks a Stepdown Overflow Clinical Nurse Coordinator to oversee patient flow, clinical quality, and care coordination for our stepdown overflow unit. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, guide nursing staff, and coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure safe, efficient throughput. You will collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, support evidence-based practice, mentor nurses, and promote patient-centered care. Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations and patient flow for the stepdown overflow unit
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to stepdown-level patients
- Serve as clinical resource and leader for nursing staff on the unit
- Oversee safe admissions, transfers, and discharges to optimize throughput
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans
- Monitor quality, safety, and regulatory compliance metrics
- Support orientation, mentoring, and development of nursing staff
- Ensure accurate, timely EHR documentation and communication
