Job Description

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks an Occupational Therapist I for Acute and Inpatient Rehab at Greater Heights, Sun-Wed schedule. The therapist will evaluate and treat adult and geriatric patients with functional, neurological, orthopedic, and medical conditions, developing evidence-based treatment plans that restore independence and safety. Responsibilities include interdisciplinary collaboration, patient and family education, accurate documentation in the EMR, and participation in quality and performance-improvement initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans for acute and inpatient rehab populations
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve functional independence, mobility, and safety
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members on care plans and discharge planning
  • Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive techniques, and use of equipment
  • Document assessments, goals, and progress accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and best-practice implementation
  • Adhere to regulatory, ethical, and hospital standards of care and documentation
  • Support a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and continuous professional development
