Single Hospital Coverage / 1:4 Call
McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan is actively recruiting a Geriatric Psychiatrist to join three additional board-certified Psychiatrists in providing coverage for our 13-bed Geri-Psych unit.
Responsibilities will include assessing the level of care needed for any ED referral to the unit, psychiatric assessment and medication reviews, providing admission orders and treatment recommendations as well as rounding daily on patients. Additionally, the Psychiatrist will also provide discharge recommendations, assist in behavioral planning safety precautions, work closely with the ED and hospitalist teams and social workers. The inpatient Geri-Psych unit averages 3 to 4 new admission per day with a daily census of 10 to 12 patients. Qualified candidates will be BE/BC in Psychiatry.
