Patient Care/Transport:

  • Assist with direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or other medical provider
  • Take patients vital signs, assist with daily activities, administer medication, attend to patient needs
  • Assess the transportation needs of the patient (wheelchair, lifting assistance, etc.)
  • Assists patient with sign-in process
  • Directs ambulatory patients/family members to appropriate location within Cancer Center
    Communication:
  • Greets patient/family members in a courteous and helpful manner
  • Effectively communicates with staff members
    Recordkeeping/Reports:
  • Observe patients’ condition  and reports any changes in condition to the Registered Nurse/medical provider for further assessment
  • Documents patient interaction as needed
    Education:
  • Maintain continuing educations requirements
    Stock:
  • Assist with transporting  supplies and restocking
    Regulatory:
  • Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
  • Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal procedures/guidelines/regulations

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; required Certified as a Nursing Assistant in the state of Mississippi; highly desirable Good interpersonal skills; required Must be service oriented; required Interaction with a patient population of all ages ranging from neonates to geriatrics, required
