Hospital For Extended Recovery, a Sentara Health facility in Norfolk, VA, seeks a Clinical Nurse Manager to lead nursing care for medically complex long-term acute patients. This on-site role oversees daily unit operations, staffing, and clinical practice, ensuring safe, evidence-based care and regulatory compliance. The manager coordinates interdisciplinary care plans, mentors and evaluates nursing staff, monitors quality metrics and patient outcomes, and drives process improvements. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily nursing operations on the long-term acute care unit
- Supervise, schedule, and mentor nursing staff and support personnel
- Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based care for medically complex patients
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans with physicians and allied health teams
- Monitor and improve quality, safety, and patient outcome metrics
- Maintain regulatory and accreditation compliance and documentation
- Implement and update clinical policies, procedures, and best practices
- Support staff education, onboarding, and professional development
- Promote a patient-centered, compassionate care culture aligned with Sentara values
