WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified Urologist for ongoing locums coverage beginning November 23, 2026. This opportunity provides rotating 24-hour call coverage across three hospitals located within approximately 10 miles of one another. Providers must be available for the full Monday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM block.

  • Call Volume: Approximately 10 cases per week across the service; volume is generally light during the week but may increase on weekends

  • Work Model: Will not work solo; APP support is available
Clinical Scope

The Urologist will provide 24-hour call coverage for consults, emergent surgeries, and cases that cannot be managed by the onsite APP team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Urology consultations
  • Emergent urologic surgeries
  • Managing cases beyond APP scope
  • Weekend inpatient rounding as needed
  • Supporting acute transfers from community hospitals within the health system

Each hospital has dedicated urology APP coverage during the weekday, with APPs responsible for initial consultations, evaluating patients, preparing cases, and adding cases to the surgical schedule. Additional weekend APP coverage is available across the three hospitals.

Typical Call Day

Call is generally light during the week but may be heavier on weekends when onsite urology APP coverage is reduced.

There is an estimated 10 cases per week across the service.

The physician will not work solo and will have support from urology-specific PAs/NPs at the facilities.

Requirements
  • MD/DO
  • Board Certified
  • Active Pennsylvania medical license
  • Pennsylvania DEA
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • IMLC candidates will be considered
  • Must be comfortable with 24-hour urology call
  • Must be available for the complete Monday 7:00 AM Monday 7:00 AM block
  • Must be able to respond within 30 minutes
  • Comfortable managing emergent urologic cases
