Speech Pathologist

LifePoint Health is seeking a Speech Pathologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing evaluations for pediatric and adult patients.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans focused on functional outcomes and patient-centered goals.
• Provide direct therapy for communication and swallowing disorders in inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
• Assess and manage dysphagia, performing bedside swallowing evaluations and collaborating on instrumental studies as appropriate.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, swallowing precautions, and home exercise programs to promote carryover.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other team members to coordinate care and participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and plans of care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate changes to the healthcare team and family.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, departmental meetings, and continuing education activities to support best practices and professional growth.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards of practice for speech-language pathology.
