Ophthalmic Technician

WSi Healthcare Personnel is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists in a busy clinical setting. In this role, you'll perform preliminary eye exams, including visual acuity, tonometry, visual fields, and imaging, while accurately documenting patient histories in EMR systems. You'll prepare patients and exam rooms, assist with in-office procedures, and educate patients on treatments and follow-up care. Working within WSi's supportive, service-driven culture, you'll collaborate with providers and staff, gain exposure to diverse eye-care environments, and build skills that support long-term growth in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary eye exams including visual acuity, tonometry, and visual fields
• Assist ophthalmologists during patient exams and minor procedures
• Collect and document patient histories, medications, and chief complaints
• Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment (OCT, fundus cameras, lensometers)
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure a clean, safe clinical environment
• Educate patients on tests, treatments, and follow-up care
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently
• Verify insurance information and support basic administrative tasks
• Maintain accurate, compliant electronic health records
• Follow clinical protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures
