Boston Children's Hospital seeks a Physician Assistant for our General Surgery Clinic to deliver advanced pediatric care in a leading academic medical center. Responsibilities
- Provide advanced practice care to pediatric general surgery patients in an outpatient clinic setting
- Conduct histories, physical exams, differential diagnoses, and develop treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging to support clinical decisions
- Assist surgeons with pre-operative and post-operative management and patient education
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, social work, and specialists
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols and state regulations
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and long-term care plans
- Document all encounters and plans accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical protocols, and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Support resident and student education as part of a teaching-hospital environment
