Physician Assistant, General Surgery Clinic

Boston Children's Hospital seeks a Physician Assistant for our General Surgery Clinic to deliver advanced pediatric care in a leading academic medical center. In this role, you'll manage pre- and post-operative patients, perform comprehensive assessments, order and interpret diagnostics, and coordinate care with surgeons and a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities

• Provide advanced practice care to pediatric general surgery patients in an outpatient clinic setting
• Conduct histories, physical exams, differential diagnoses, and develop treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging to support clinical decisions
• Assist surgeons with pre-operative and post-operative management and patient education
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, social work, and specialists
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols and state regulations
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and long-term care plans
• Document all encounters and plans accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Participate in quality improvement, clinical protocols, and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Support resident and student education as part of a teaching-hospital environment
