Job Description
Encompass Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support patient recovery in our inpatient rehabilitation setting. In this role, you will evaluate patients recovering from major illness or injury, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based occupational therapy to restore function and independence. You will collaborate daily with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, and document progress in accordance with clinical standards. Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' functional abilities and rehabilitation needs following illness or injury
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and independence
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team on coordinated care plans
- Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, equipment use, and home programs
- Document assessments, progress notes, and outcomes in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement, safety, and clinical excellence initiatives
- Support mentorship, specialty training, and professional development activities
