UT Health East Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Trauma Intermediate Care unit in Tyler, TX. In this fast-paced setting, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to trauma and step-down patients, performing comprehensive assessments, administering medications, monitoring telemetry, and responding quickly to changes in condition. You will collaborate with physicians and an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and maintain accurate EHR documentation. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct bedside nursing care to trauma intermediate care patients, including assessments, medication administration, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Monitor patient conditions, recognize and respond to changes in status, and escalate appropriately
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and trauma unit protocols and standards
  • Participate in trauma-specific training, drills, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Support and mentor new nurses and assistive staff on the unit
