Job Description
Prisma Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Operating Room team. In this full-time role, you will provide perioperative nursing care, including pre-op assessment, intraoperative support, and post-anesthesia monitoring. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to ensure safe procedures, accurate documentation, and adherence to sterile techniques. Responsibilities include patient advocacy, medication administration, care planning, and participation in quality and safety initiatives. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to surgical patients
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and verify consents and histories
- Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during procedures
- Maintain strict sterile technique and OR safety protocols
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively and in immediate post-op phase
- Administer medications and manage IVs per provider orders
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team on care plans and discharge needs
- Educate patients and families about procedures and recovery
- Participate in quality improvement, safety, and staff education initiatives
