Surgery Nurse Manager

Job Description

Adventist Health seeks a Surgery Department Nurse Manager (RN) to lead perioperative nursing teams in a mission-driven, faith-based environment. This role oversees day-to-day OR operations, staffing, patient flow, quality, and regulatory compliance while promoting whole-person care. The manager collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia, and support staff to ensure safe, efficient surgical services, evidence-based practice, and positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities include budgeting, performance management, staff development, mentoring, and fostering a culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous improvement aligned with Adventist Health's Christian values.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise surgery department nursing staff and daily operations
  • Oversee OR scheduling, patient flow, and resource allocation for safe, timely care
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and infection-prevention standards
  • Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based perioperative nursing practices
  • Manage department budget, staffing plans, and productivity targets
  • Recruit, coach, evaluate, and mentor nursing staff for performance and growth
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and support teams to optimize outcomes
  • Monitor quality metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support patient and family-centered, faith-based, whole-person care
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and alignment with Adventist Health values
