Registered Nurse, Interventional Radiology

Job Description

Sierra Medical Center in El Paso seeks a skilled Registered Nurse for our Interventional Radiology department (Per Diem). The RN provides pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care for patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures, including assessment, IV access, moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, and recovery. The role collaborates closely with physicians and technologists, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. RNs follow strict sterile and safety protocols, document in the EMR, support patient/family education, and uphold our culture of compassion, teamwork, and clinical excellence in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care to interventional radiology patients
  • Perform patient assessments, obtain histories, and establish IV access
  • Administer medications and moderate sedation per protocol and monitor patient response
  • Continuously monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status during procedures
  • Maintain strict aseptic and sterile technique in the IR suite
  • Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and ancillary staff to coordinate safe, efficient care
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and follow-up care
  • Accurately document care, assessments, and outcomes in the EMRFollow hospital safety, infection prevention, and quality standards
  • Participate in teamwork, communication, and process improvements within the IR and nursing teams
