Ultrasonographer

OhioHealth is seeking a skilled Ultrasonographer to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations (e.g., abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, small parts) according to established protocols and provider orders
• Prepare, position, and educate patients for ultrasound procedures while maintaining comfort, dignity, and privacy
• Review patient histories, clinical indications, and prior imaging to tailor examinations appropriately
• Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment to optimize image quality, applying correct technical parameters and Doppler techniques
• Recognize and document normal and abnormal findings and promptly communicate critical or unexpected results to radiologists or ordering providers
• Accurately document exams, technical factors, and patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) and imaging systems (PACS)
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and ALARA principles, maintaining a clean and safe exam environment
• Collaborate with radiologists, providers, nurses, and other care team members to coordinate timely, patient-centered imaging care
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities to enhance imaging quality and workflow efficiency
• Support the training and orientation of new staff or students as requested and engage in ongoing professional development
