RN First Assistant

Adventist Health is seeking an RN First Assistant to support surgical services in our faith-based, mission-driven system. In this role, you will provide first-assist support to surgeons, deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care, and help ensure safe, efficient procedures. Responsibilities

  • Provide first-assist support during surgical procedures under surgeon direction
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate perioperative nursing care
  • Maintain sterile field, instruments and supplies to ensure patient safety
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and OR team for optimal outcomes
  • Monitor patient status and respond to intraoperative changes
  • Document care, procedures and patient responses accurately in the EMREducate patients and families on pre- and post-operative care
  • Adhere to infection prevention, safety and regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality improvement and clinical best-practice initiatives
  • Support Adventist Health's faith-based, whole-person care mission
