Job Description

Uptown Animal Hospital seeks a Certified Veterinary Technician to provide compassionate, high-quality care to companion animals. Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, surgery, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, imaging, and treatments; performing venipuncture, catheter placement, and medication administration; maintaining accurate medical records; educating clients on preventive care, post-operative instructions, and treatment plans; and supporting a clean, safe, and low-stress environment. You'll collaborate closely with a supportive clinical team, grow your technical skills, and play a key role in improving the health and well-being of pets and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and medication administration
  • Conduct laboratory testing and perform imaging as directed
  • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic medical records
  • Educate clients on preventive care and treatment plans
  • Provide post-operative and discharge instructions to pet owners
  • Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked treatment and exam areas
  • Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
  • Collaborate with veterinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
