Hyde Park Animal Clinic seeks a Lead Certified Veterinary Technician to provide high-quality nursing care for dogs and cats in our busy, community-focused hospital. In this role, you will lead and mentor technicians and assistants, coordinate treatment flow, and support veterinarians with exams, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and diagnostics. Responsibilities include patient triage, lab work, radiology, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and maintaining accurate medical records. You'll help educate clients, uphold safety and infection-control standards, and foster a collaborative, compassionate team culture focused on exceptional patient and client care.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor veterinary technicians and assistants
- Provide nursing care, patient monitoring, and triage for dogs and cats
- Assist veterinarians with exams, surgery, dentistry, and anesthesia
- Perform laboratory testing, radiology, and other diagnostics
- Place IV catheters and administer medications and treatments
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and treatment notes
- Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
- Ensure adherence to safety, anesthesia, and infection-control protocols
- Coordinate daily workflow and support efficient patient throughput
- Collaborate with the team to promote a positive, client-focused culture
