Gold Country Veterinary Hospital in Grass Valley, CA is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our close-knit, compassionate team. In this role, you'll provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care support for dogs and cats, including patient triage, anesthesia monitoring, dentistry assistance, diagnostics, client education, and nursing care. You'll collaborate closely with veterinarians and assistants, communicate clearly with pet owners, maintain accurate medical records, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards in a learning-focused, community-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for exams, treatments, and surgical procedures for dogs and cats
- Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery, ensuring safety and comfort
- Perform diagnostic procedures including lab tests, imaging assistance, and sample collection
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Deliver high-quality nursing care, including patient triage and hospitalization support
- Educate clients on pet health, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation
- Uphold clinic cleanliness, infection control, and equipment maintenance standards
- Collaborate with veterinarians and team members in a supportive, team-oriented environment
