The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive and ongoing assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, evidence-based nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications, treatments, IV therapy, and other prescribed interventions safely and accurately.
- Monitor, interpret, and document patients' clinical status, including vital signs, lab results, and response to therapies, using the electronic health record.
- Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, procedures, discharge plans, and self-care.
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other team members to ensure safe and timely transitions of care.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards, reporting concerns and near misses as appropriate.
- Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and unit-based initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical outcomes and patient experience.
- Support the orientation, precepting, and mentorship of new nurses, students, and other learners in the academic medical environment.
- Demonstrate professional accountability, cultural competence, and respect for diversity in all patient and team interactions.
