Job Description
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to serve as a Charleston Clinic Float. This LPN will support multiple outpatient clinics, providing direct patient care, coordinating visits, and assisting providers in an academic health setting. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining histories and vitals, administering medications and injections, supporting procedures, documenting in the EHR, and reinforcing patient education. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in multiple outpatient clinics as a float LPNRoom patients, obtain medical histories, and record vital signs
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations per provider orders
- Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, and treatments
- Document all care accurately in the EHR system
- Reinforce patient education and discharge instructions
- Support care coordination and follow-up with patients and families
- Maintain infection control, safety, and quality standards
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams in an academic medical environment
- Adapt quickly to varying clinic workflows and patient populations
