Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-operative nursing assessments and histories
- Prepare patients for surgery, including IV starts, medications, and consent verification
- Provide patient and family education on procedures and post-op expectations
- Monitor and document vital signs and patient status in the EMRCollaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative team members
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards
- Advocate for patient comfort, dignity, and cultural sensitivity
- Participate in continuous learning and quality improvement initiatives
