Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Inpatient Specialty Post Surgical unit. Responsibilities
- Provide direct postoperative nursing care to adult inpatient surgical patients, including assessments, medication administration, and monitoring for complications
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Educate patients and families on post-surgical care, pain management, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate, timely nursing documentation in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Respond to changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and escalate concerns to providers promptly
- Promote a safe, patient-centered environment by following infection prevention, fall reduction, and medication safety protocols
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, handoffs, and care coordination to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Precept, mentor, and support nursing colleagues, students, and support staff as needed
- Engage in ongoing professional development, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with the care team to manage patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently
