Job Description

CAN Community Health, a mission-driven nonprofit specializing in HIV and infectious disease care, is seeking a Dentist to provide comprehensive oral health services to diverse, often underserved patients. The Dentist will deliver preventive, restorative, and emergency dental care, perform oral health assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans aligned with medical care teams. Responsibilities include patient education, strict adherence to infection control standards, accurate EHR documentation, and close collaboration with physicians, nurses, and behavioral health staff. Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive preventive, restorative, and emergency dental care to clinic patients.
  • Conduct oral examinations, diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, and behavioral health teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, disease prevention, and the link between oral and overall health.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strictly adhere to infection control, sterilization protocols, and safety regulations.
  • Manage dental emergencies and acute oral health issues as they arise.
  • Participate in quality improvement, case reviews, and clinical best-practice initiatives.
  • Support community outreach and patient engagement related to oral and HIV/infectious disease health.
  • Contribute to an inclusive, respectful, and stigma-free care environment for all patients.
