OhioHealth is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure high-quality, patient-centered care, and support clinical staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance management. You will coordinate staffing, collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and promote evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for nursing staff on assigned unit, including scheduling, delegation of assignments, and real-time support.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care in alignment with Ohio
  • Health standards, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges in collaboration with physicians, case management, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff through ongoing feedback, goal setting, and participation in performance evaluations.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, and competency validation for new nurses and support staff.

  • Monitor clinical quality indicators, patient experience scores, and safety metrics; participate in quality improvement initiatives and implement process changes.

  • Facilitate daily huddles and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to coordinate comprehensive care plans for patients and families.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for complex patient care situations, escalation of concerns, and critical decision making.
  • Collaborate with leadership to manage staffing levels, workload distribution, and resource utilization to support safe care and staff well-being.
  • Participate in incident review, risk mitigation, and follow-up education related to safety events and near misses.
  • Support and model the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems, documentation standards, and secure communication practices.
  • Encourage and support continuing education, specialty certification, and professional development for team members.
  • Engage in strategic initiatives, committees, and projects that advance clinical excellence, innovation, and community health outcomes.
