Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and treatments according to physician orders and nursing standards.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes or emergent situations, and respond promptly and appropriately.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and post-discharge care plans.
- Document all care, observations, and communications accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Coordinate with physicians, specialists, therapists, and support staff to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance standards in all clinical activities.
- Precept and mentor new nurses and support staff, contributing to a collaborative learning environment.
- Advocate for patient needs, ensuring respect, dignity, and culturally competent care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to enhance patient outcomes and workflows.
