Technician

LifePoint Health is seeking a skilled Cat Scan Technician to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform CT imaging procedures, ensure high-quality diagnostic images, and prioritize patient safety and comfort. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to support accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans. Responsibilities

• Perform CT imaging exams according to physician orders and established protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
• Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout CT procedures, providing clear explanations and compassionate support.
• Operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment safely, following radiation safety and ALARA guidelines.
• Start and manage IV lines as permitted, and administer or assist with contrast media according to policy, monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Document exams, patient histories, and relevant clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record and imaging systems.
• Perform daily quality control and routine maintenance checks on CT equipment, reporting malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and accommodate urgent or emergent exams.
• Adhere to all infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital regulatory standards, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with scheduling and patient flow to reduce wait times while maintaining quality and patient satisfaction.
• Participate in ongoing education, competencies, and performance improvement initiatives within the imaging department.
