Job Description
Avera Health is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, administer medications, assist with treatments, and support RNs and providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care under the supervision of RNs and providers
- Administer medications and injections following physician orders and protocols
- Perform basic wound care, dressing changes, and other prescribed treatments
- Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, and observations
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the care team
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Support physicians and RNs during examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Document all care and patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Educate patients and families on medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality standards in all care activities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care plans
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives
