Job Description

Metro Community Health Center in Rochester, NY seeks a Medical Assistant to support primary and behavioral health providers in delivering accessible, culturally competent care to diverse and underserved patients. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs and medical histories, performing phlebotomy, EKGs, and immunizations per protocol, and documenting in the EHR. Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories
  • Prepare patients and exam rooms for clinical procedures
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and immunizations per protocol
  • Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Support providers during exams and minor procedures
  • Manage patient flow, scheduling, and follow-up calls
  • Reinforce patient education and care instructions
  • Maintain infection control and exam room cleanliness
  • Coordinate with care teams to support community health initiatives
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and culturally competent care
