Job Description
Metro Community Health Center in Rochester, NY seeks a Medical Assistant to support primary and behavioral health providers in delivering accessible, culturally competent care to diverse and underserved patients. Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for clinical procedures
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and immunizations per protocol
- Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Support providers during exams and minor procedures
- Manage patient flow, scheduling, and follow-up calls
- Reinforce patient education and care instructions
- Maintain infection control and exam room cleanliness
- Coordinate with care teams to support community health initiatives
- Uphold patient confidentiality and culturally competent care
