National Park Medical Center seeks a dedicated Charge Nurse to lead clinical operations within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee nursing care delivery on the assigned unit during each shift
- Serve as primary clinical resource and point of escalation for staff nurses and support staff
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and hospital policies
- Assign and adjust staff workloads based on patient acuity, census, and staff competencies
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Support, coach, and mentor nursing staff and participate in onboarding of new employees
- Monitor adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards on the unit
- Facilitate effective communication with patients and families, addressing concerns and promoting patient-centered care
- Participate in rapid response and emergency situations, providing clinical leadership at the bedside
- Assist with performance improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance activities for the department
- Contribute to discharge planning and care transitions, coordinating with internal and community resources
