Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications to patients on an evening shift in accordance with provider orders and facility policies
  • Document medication administration and patient responses accurately in MAR/EHR systems
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to licensed nursing staff or providers
  • Follow security, safety, and infection control protocols specific to correctional healthcare settings
  • Assist nursing staff with basic clinical tasks, such as vital signs and routine care
  • Maintain medication cart organization, inventory, and proper storage procedures
  • Support a compassionate, respectful environment for incarcerated patients while upholding professional boundaries
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support continuity and quality of care
