Certified Medical Assistant

Southern Health Partners Inc is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide compassionate daytime care Monday-Friday in a correctional healthcare setting. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll room patients, obtain histories and vital signs, perform phlebotomy and basic diagnostic tests, support medication passes, maintain EMR documentation, and assist providers with minor procedures. You'll help ensure compliance with security and clinical protocols while promoting patient safety, infection control, and respectful, ethical care for incarcerated individuals in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including vital signs, histories, and basic assessments
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care tests as ordered
• Support medication passes under licensed clinical supervision
• Document all care accurately in the EMR system
• Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, and treatments
• Follow infection control, safety, and security protocols in a correctional setting
• Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient Monday-Friday day operations
• Communicate effectively with nursing, providers, and custody staff
• Monitor patient status and promptly report changes to licensed staff
• Maintain medical supplies, exam rooms, and equipment in a clean, ready state
