Registered Nurse Circulator

Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center - St. Charles seeks a Temporary Registered Nurse Circulator to support our multi-specialty outpatient surgical team. In this role, you'll provide safe, efficient perioperative care for patients undergoing orthopedic, ophthalmology, ENT, podiatry, pain management, and other procedures. Responsibilities include pre-op assessment, intraoperative circulating, patient advocacy, and post-op coordination. You'll collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and clinical staff in a modern, patient-centered, safety-focused environment that values compassion, teamwork, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative RN care as circulating nurse for outpatient surgical procedures
• Perform preoperative patient assessment and verification of consents and documentation
• Maintain sterile technique and support infection control standards in the ORCoordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs during procedures
• Administer medications and monitor patient status intraoperatively
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families on pre- and post-operative instructions
• Participate in safety checks, time-outs, and quality improvement initiatives
• Respond to emergencies using BLS/ACLS protocols
• Support a patient-centered, compassionate, and team-oriented culture
