Job Description
OhioHealth is seeking a compassionate Staff RN for our Med Surg Ortho unit in Grove City. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based care to adult medical-surgical and orthopedic patients, including post-op joint and fracture cases. Responsibilities include assessments, medication administration, care planning, patient education, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical and orthopedic patients, including pre- and post-operative care
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies following physician orders and nursing standards
- Continuously assess, monitor, and document patient status, vital signs, and responses to interventions in the EMRCollaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other team members to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Ensure a safe environment by following infection control, fall prevention, and patient safety protocols
- Delegate and supervise tasks to LPNs, nursing assistants, and support staff as appropriate
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, hand-off reports, and quality improvement initiatives
- Use orthopedic equipment (e.g., traction, immobilizers) and support early mobility and rehab goals
