Job Description
Rutland Regional Medical Center seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative, community-focused hospital. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for diverse patient populations, administer medications and treatments, and coordinate with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include patient and family education, accurate documentation in the electronic health record, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. RNs are encouraged to participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and professional development to support career growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care on medical-surgical and specialty units
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies per provider orders and hospital protocols
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status, responding promptly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families on care plans
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records and ensure regulatory compliance
- Support a safe, clean, and compassionate care environment aligned with hospital policies
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Precept, mentor, and support new nurses and clinical staff as needed
- Engage in ongoing professional development, training, and continuing education
