Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care on medical-surgical and specialty units
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies per provider orders and hospital protocols
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status, responding promptly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families on care plans
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records and ensure regulatory compliance
- Support a safe, clean, and compassionate care environment aligned with hospital policies
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Precept, mentor, and support new nurses and clinical staff as needed
- Engage in ongoing professional development, training, and continuing education
